Tonight I read the book, "The Carrot Seed" by Ruth Krauss. I ask the kids, do you think the carrot is going to grow after the mother, father, and brother tell the little boy that it won't grow? Everyone said, yes! Except for one kid who insisted that the carrot was going to grow downwards. He was like, "it's going to grow down, not up. I love this book about patience and standing one's ground. The theme tonight was on fall harvest or growing stuff. As an experiment, we are going to grow a russet potato vine in a jar. Hopefully, we should see some action by next week. I'm determined to make this experiment work. I'm not a chemist or botanist. But I watched a video and read some directions. It should work. Fingers crossed!
