Happy Halloween-Scarey Stories

Oct. 25
It's been a while since I have posted. I had a lot of school visits last month so preparing for both storytime and reading to 25 4 or 5 years was totally tiresome. The special story-time- Halloween theme went very well. Actually better than I expected- a whooping 23 preschoolers and school-aged kids came out that evening dressed up as cute little ghouls and goblins and princesses.

I had several games-"mummy" bowling and "guess the body parts" guessing game in which I used cooked noodles as guts and intestines, grapes as eyeballs, and bagged pudding as squishy hearts. Then, we played musical chairs to the song "Monster Bash" and "Thriller".

I read several books because it indeed is still considered story-time but just a special one because the kids can dress-up and we lasted longer than the regular 30 minutes. I tried to steer clear of books mentioning the word "Halloween".
