Dads

Margie decided to read books with dad, as a main character or father and child scenario stories to the Thursday story time group. I probably will do this theme later on this month since the library has been closed for the past two Mondays. On the 14th is our annual ice cream social which I am anticipating a bigger crowd than last year. I did a Father's Day blog entry last year so this may add to the list of books I previously picked out.

Dads, fathers as the main character in the story or stories between father and child/children:
  • Froggy's Day with Dad by Jonathan London
  • Leo the Late Bloomer byRobert Krauss
  • Kevin and his Dad by Irene Smalsl
  • Benny Bakes a Cake by Eve Rice
  • I Love my Daddy by Sebastien Braun
  • My Dad by Anthony Browne
  • On Our Way Home by Sebastien Braun
  • Oh, Daddy by Bob Shea
  • You Can Do Anything Daddy by Michael Rex
  • Dad & Pop by Kelly Bennett

Family and Mothers

Happy Mother's Day! Well...it was yesterday but I don't add blog entries on the weekends, only on Mondays. So today I decided to do stories about family and moms. Here are a few titles of books that I used this week. Of course, I used others from last year but like the kids really remembered because I sure didn't.
  • Mother, Mother I Want Another by Maria Polushkin Robbins
  • A Mouse told his Mother by Bethany Roberts
  • Whose Mouse Are You? by Robert Kraus
  • Owl Babies by Martin Waddell
  • A Mother for Choco by Keiko Kasza
  • Mama Zooms by Jane Cowen-Fletcher
  • Llama Llama Red Pajama by Anna Dewdney
  • Does a Kangaroo Have a Mother, too? by Eric Carle
  • Jonathan and His Mommy by Irene Smalls
  • Is Your Mama A Llama? by Deborah Guarino
  • Mama, Do You Love Me? by Barbara M Joosse
  • What Grandma's Do Best: What Grandpa's Do Best? by Laura Joffe Numeroff
