Smelly Socks: Different Scents on Socks
Materials: socks, variety of scents such as vanilla, lemon, onion, cinnamon, garlic, peanut butter, etc. anything that will make a stench.
Step 1: Add a different scent to each sock to give the different odors.
Step 2: Have a child smell a sock and guess its scent
I used a variety of scents from pickle juice, ketchup, grape jelly and placed the socks individual bags with labels. I called each child up and they gave me some crazy faces and interesting scent guesses. Totally enjoyed it!
I read tonight the first two books:
- Dog Breath: the Horrible Trouble of Hally Tosis by Dav Pilkey
- I Stink by Kate and Mike McMullan
- Stinky Smelly Feet: a love story by Margie Palatini
- Gorgonzola: a very stinkysaurus by Margie Palatini
- Big Smelly Bear by Britta Teckentrup
- Mary Smith by A U'Ren ( ok it doesn't smell but the idea of shooting peas at people was appealing)
- Nosy Rosie by Holly Keller
- Alison's Zinnia by Arnold Lobel
- Sweet Dream Pie by Audrey Wood
- Walter the Farting Dog by William Kotzwinkle (if only my library system would buy this book-totally funny
