Summer Reading Kick-Off Ice Cream Social Night

It's summertime again! We had another successfull summer reading start off with the ice cream social. I had 27 people in attendance. 12 kids between the ages 3 to 7 and 3 teens signed up for summer reading. Hooray!!! Buying ice cream is expensive but well worth the treat.

Most frequently requested ice cream toppings amongst the kids were:
  1. Rainbow Springkles
  2. Fudge
  3. M & Ms
  4. Whipped Cream
  5. Maraschino Cherries

This is a reminder to myself next year to save at least $40. Plus I'm making a list of the items I purchased and location so that I don't have to run around to different stores to find things at the last minute. Plus I thought Shoppers Food might have been cheaper to buy the ice cream but Giant had the better prices. Although inflation happens and my prices may vary next year but at least I got a good idea as to where to buy most of the stuff. Also I need least 2 volunteers to help register the kids and explain and hand out the forms to the parents while we serve the kids.
