All about me! The question I asked the kids today was, what do you like about yourself? I got a bunch of interesting answers. Like my hair, my teeth, horses, riding my bike, candy. I said, I like my "teeth", my smile. My parents paid a good penny to make these babies look straight and perfect. I also have to thank Dr. Hrechka for the job well done on my teeth. They wouldn't be perfect without him. He's the best orthodontist in the profession.
Anyway, here are the list of selected books:
I like Me by Nancy Carlson
Silly Suzy Goose by Petr Horacek
A Porcupine Named Fluffy by Helen Lester
Tacky the Penguin by Helen Lester
I Love You As Much by Laura Krauss Melmed
Hands Can by Cheryl Willis Hudson
*Who Hops by Katie Davis ( fun read)
*From Head to Toe (fun read)

How cool to come across my book (WHO HOPS?) on your blog! Thanks for putting it there! 8-)
What a great blog you have - I'm glad I came across it!
My first novel for tweens, The Curse of Addy McMahon came out this month. The book is even great for reluctant readers, as it has a lot of art in it - the main character keeps her diary in graphic novel format. Teenaged advance readers have been giving it great reviews, which is a complete thrill! I don't know if your library has book clubs but since it depicts tween girls in real life situations, including an online mistake, I wondered if there is a way to do one or all of the following with your library:
-Host a chat about the book with your members -Upload the book trailer (you may view it on my blog, which also has links to all the reviews - URL below) -Host a book club, with an online chat after -Upload or embed my instructional videos (I have two of those so far they're only a minute each and you can also see them on my blog) -Do a reciprocal link
Here is a description and review from Kirkus Reviews:
"Addy believes her Grandmother when she claims the "family curse" has been lurking for several generations. How else can she explain losing her father to cancer, having to get along with her mom's new "houseguest," Jonathan, losing her best friend to an e-mail mistake and being singled out as the most hated girl in the sixth grade? Addy wants to be a published writer and is already on her way with the school's monthly newspaper. Davis melds typical tween social dilemmas with the consequences of terminal illness and a child's privately painful grief. Disturbed by her mother's impending second marriage, Addy reflects on life through her graphic "autobiogra-strip" that is woven through the novel, telling her story in a sardonic and somewhat fatalistic voice. Yet she remains determined to mend a broken friendship and learns to accept life's challenges for what they are-not curses, but realities she can work through on her way to new successes. A well-crafted view of a child's inner struggles and emotional growth."
